lululemon’s
first high-fashion campaign was created in collaboration with renowned designer
Roksanda Ilinčić. The two brands share common core values, and the result was fashion
meets performance in an unexpected, unforgettable collection that pushed the
limits of athleisure.

—Branding and Packaging
After having working sessions with Roksanda herself and the product team at lululemon, we came up with a branding system that could work functionally across all platforms including heatmarks on product, hang tags, PR lookbooks, packaging and in-store design. We combined the iconic colours of the two brands to create a striking and simple collaboration logo that representented a truly equal partnership of performance and high fashion coming together as one.&#38;nbsp;

lululemon collaborated with Francesca Hayward,
Principal dancer of The Royal Ballet in London, to create a stunning 17-piece
collection. A powerful athlete and dancer, Frankie brought both functional
insights and her aesthetic to each piece. Our team brought the campaign to life
through launch assets, art direction on video and stills, hang tag design, and
a P.R. kit. We also provided the window direction for the Flagship London store
on Regent St. This campaign was the first in lululemon’s history to
receive space in print magazines, Elle Canada and Vogue.

	—2018 International Women’s Day Campaign lululemon


To celebrate International Women’s Day, we
created a campaign that challenged the status quo. Digital assets and a printed
long-form copy piece came to life across lululemon’s platforms—including a
homepage takeover, email, social assets, in-store assets, and live events in
multiple locations worldwide. We also took out a full-page spread in the New
York Times. The campaign reached 20 million people globally through online and
in-store creative.

Welcome to the Immersion—a 5-day event hosted
by lululemon that’s been known to leave an impact. Fifty influencers worldwide are
whisked away to an unknown location for the experience of a lifetime. Think yoga
with world-class ambassadors, personal development workshops, truly unique workout
experiences, and the opportunity to connect with like-minded, passionate people
away from it all. An event like this requires an invitation that also makes an
impact. We were given the theme “You are your journey” and were tasked with
creating an interactive, inspiring invite that demanded to be documented and
shared by the heavy-hitters who would receive it.

The invitation we created was a journey of
self-discovery in itself. Guests were prompted to dig deeper as a series of
thought-provoking questions printed on nested envelopes revealed themselves one
after another. We wanted to ensure time and consideration were given to each
layer. The result? A truly personalized experience.


Visually, the minimalist textures and
patterns were influenced by elements like water, echoing the feeling of jumping
in to immerse fully. The black exterior wrap and envelope added mystery to the
experience of receiving and opening the invitation. We carefully considered the
layered colours inside to complement the event locations, and the center pin closed
the occasion with a memorable takeaway. The result was a shareable, interactive
invite experience.

	—Soulcycle X lululemon


This was a collaboration that super fans of
both brands had been waiting for. It celebrated technical gear specifically
made for sweaty, endorphin-inducing Soulcycle spin classes. The branding was
inspired by the reflective wordmark on the products themselves and nodded to
the two brands coming together as one. It was used across all
collateral—hangtags, packaging, P.R. look books, social, e-commerce, and a heat
set on the gear. A highly anticipated product launch like this needed some
pre-buzz, so we created behind-the-scenes videos and dropped teasers leading up
to the launch. &#38;nbsp;

Welcome to Screenland is a multi-format
design created for a video art exhibit at the Satellite Gallery. It was made in
collaboration with curator Carolyn Jervis, a master’s candidate in the Critical
and Curatorial Studies program at the University of British Columbia. It used
an exhibition catalogue, website, and window display to explore the experience of
reading Carolyn's essay.

In 2016, lululemon hired me to lead packaging
design on the brand team. Many of my packaging and print projects started as hangtags—and
led to me spearheading some of the brand’s most significant collaborations and
global campaigns. There were also several projects in varying sizes throughout
the years, and they can be found here.

	2016 - LA Run Hang tags


These hang tags celebrate a running short designed
in and inspired by L.A. for the L.A. marathon. White with a reflective splatter
pattern, the hangtag concept mimics bright stars. It’s a folded piece that
tells a story as it’s opened. It takes you on the journey of running through
L.A. When fully opened, small illustrated running routes echo constellations in
the night sky.

	2016 - Holiday Packaging


This was the first time lululemon offered
gift boxes during the holiday season, and they were an instant hit. We utilized
a print from the winter product collection on the outside, paired with an elevated
gold logo. The boxes were simple black on the outside and revealed the pattern when
opened to surprise and delight.


This project was chosen as one of the&#38;nbsp;Best Fashion Packaging Designs by DesignRush&#38;nbsp;of 2024. See article here.

	2018 - Men’s Underwear Packaging


The brief asked us to redesign men’s
underwear packaging so that guests could reuse it once they took the product
out. We designed these pouches with multiple patterns, removable stickers, and
a prompt on the back to cut the top hanger off. This leaves guests with a reusable,
closable pouch.

I worked with Optimum Studios' team to come
up with a new visual identity for their brand. My approach was a flexible
logomark that could be simplified and used in various ways across different
platforms. We worked with photographer Vishal Marapon, whose style was perfect
for capturing the metal and glass architectural details that Optimum creates. I
worked with the team to create a new website experience, branding, and imagery
that captured the crew's energy.

	—The Hometown Project


What
started as Jean Chisholm and I’s Emily Carr thesis
project turned into an invitation to exhibit The Hometown Project in Prince George at the Two Rivers Gallery in the fall of 2015. Building
off our 4-step campaign system of Awareness, Alignment, Engagement, and Action,
the work also highlighted the history of Prince George's innovative civic
projects. It aimed to inspire people to create projects that could help shape
the city into a sustainable, culturally rich community. We designed custom
exhibit materials for the Two Rivers Gallery, including posters, screenprints,
maps, booklets, and interactive displays.


 The
exhibit hosted over 200 people on its opening night. (A record in P.G.'s gallery!)
This is one of those projects you remain proud of, and it has since shown at
the Museum of Vancouver, Inspiring Women Among us events in Prince George, the
Mini Maker Fair in Prince George, and spoke at Type
Brigade in 2016
in Vancouver.
